Honor Our Men and Women in Uniform

Blue Star-WM

Veteran’s Day is a great time to honor all of the men and women who have served our country through military service. Today, brave men and women, husbands and wives, sons and daughters, fathers and mothers, and brothers and sisters, are working all around the globe on land and sea in every branch of the armed forces. The Blue Star Service flag is an official banner authorized by the Department of Defense for display by families who have members serving in the Armed Forces during any period of war or hostilities. These future veterans and their families deserve our support from a grateful nation.

You can create a Blue Star service flag card using Memory Box and Poppystamps dies. I embossed the white grey background in a brick pattern, then mounted it on a navy blue panel on top of a light grey card. The tiny red Resting Birds are perched on the Tall Birch, as Perfect Pumpkins line up for inspection, giving this scene an autumn feel, all from Memory Box. The flag itself was hand-drawn and cut out using red, white and blue cardstock, and hung on a gold Poppystamps Delicate Chain. The beautiful Grand Madison Window is one of my favorite Poppystamps dies, and appears in many of my designs. It’s just so versatile.

Remember your favorite soldiers and sailors, and their families throughout the year, especially during the holidays when so many have to work so far away and are unable to make the long trip home. Send them a little extra love this year.

Live your life in color!
