Sunshine Love

IMG_0064-WM

I had to add one last paper-pieced love note, in a warm sunshine yellow with bright blooms! It’s so easy to create a Valentine for everyone on your list using this wonderful La Rue Heart from Memory Box and the Small Hydrangea Blooms from Poppystamps! It’s the perfect combination for a sweet, warm love!

My Heart, My Favorite

I love the bright colorful look of this paper-pieced heart so much, I decided to try it in a few different color palettes! This blue, grey and yellow color combination has been a favorite of mine for some time! I hope you love it too!

I Woke Up in Love This Morning

IMG_0067-WM

Were you thinking about that catchy old Partridge Family song that gets stuck in your head? The other night my husband and I were watching some old Partridge Family reruns and we saw an episode where the bus was featured prominently. I LOVE the Partridge Family bus because it was done in the style of one of my favorite artists, Dutch painter Piet Mondrian. I used to spend a lot of time viewing his work in the modern art wing of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and I love anything at all made in his distinctive black and white grids with primary red, blue and yellow color blocks. Today’s Valentine is my own homage to an artist I love, Piet Mondrian, as well as my hubbie, who loves watching The Partridge Family! To create this card, I simply punched the heart out in black, then punched it again in the primary colors (including white) and fit everything together like a jigsaw puzzle. It’s bold and graphic, and certainly a lot of fun!

Love is Blue

IMG_0043-wm

I designed this Valentine for a very special friend of mine, who loves purples and blues! He’s a bit of a non-traditional guy, so I thought a Valentine made in something a little different than traditional colors would be fitting for him. Sometimes a new color palette can add new life to your favorite die cuts and cards. Over the next few days, we’ll take a look at how one die can be used to make a box full of Valentines for ALL your favorite sweethearts!

Winter Love

I love the color combination on this wintery Valentine’s Day card. The background paper is from Memory Box, and it has tiny white snowflakes against a grey field. It would have sat in my drawer for a while until I saw this same pattern paper used by another designer who made a white wreath with pink flowers on it. I knew this open heart would be a great die to use with this beautiful paper! It reminds us that love will keep us all warm in the chilly days of February!

A Little Love

IMG_0054-WM

Sometimes all it takes is a little love! A little love can pull you through the hard times and the bad days when the world just may not feel so colorful. But that little love, every day, can fill your heart until it overflows, like these little hearts in this little paper bag. I am grateful for the little love that is given to me every day, reminding me that together, we are one big deal!
