Fusion Card Challenge: Happy Days

Our friends at Fusion have a brand new challenge this week, and it makes me happy! For this card, I took my inspiration from a few things: the color palette, the flowers, the dimension and color of the background, and a few of the shapes. I wanted to find a sentiment that had the right colors, and looked a bit like a vintage label. I found this patterned paper from a craft store and thought it would work great!

There’s still plenty of time to play along with Fusion right here: http://fusioncardchallenge.blogspot.com/2015/04/fusion-happy-days.html

Thank you so much to everyone at Fusion for not only this challenge, but for last week’s Vintage Florals Challenge too! I am happy to announce that my card was selected as the winner! I have added my new Zen Master Fusion badge proudly to my blog! Thanks for sponsoring a great challenge!

Reverse Confetti: SFYTT #23

Reverse Confetti’s April Sketch For You To Try will be closing soon, so I created a sunny spring card to brighten up this gray day. I used the Circle Garland Confetti Cuts. They always make me smile whenever I see them on a card. They remind me of those big outdoor balls you find at city block parties!

If you hurry, you can get your April card in right here: http://reverseconfetti.com/category/sketch-for-you-to-try/current-sketch/

Colour Q Challenge: cQc #288

Our friends over at Colour Q have a great new challenge this week using one of my favorite color palettes this spring. I just love that combination of the blue and green, white, and some dark navy or black, along with the kraft. There’s just so many things you can do with it.

I have also been seeing this growing trend around the blogs lately of cards that feature 4, 6, or 9 small groupings of color and embellishments to create a nice symmetrical grid pattern. I don’t know if there’s a name for it, but I just love the pretty look. Today, I tried it for myself with these mini doilies, buttons, and scissors. What do you think? I think I will continue to experiment with more layers and embellishments.

There’s still a little time to catch the end of the Colour Q Challenge right here: http://www.colourq.blogspot.com/2015/04/colourq-challenge-288.html

PLS specializes in these whimsical vintage images and I just love every single one of them! Of course, what’s not to love about kitties!
