The Card Concept #39

39-1

Today I am honored to announce that this is my very first card as a member of the newest Card Concept Design team! The Card Concept sponsors an amazing challenge where participants create a card from the inspiration photo in a style of their choice. You can get all the details and play along right here: http://thecardconcept.blogspot.com/

My style for The Card Concept will be freestyle collage, which can be done in any style, and combines unrelated items in a collection. I personally view freestyle collage as lush, full, and loaded with layers, color, texture, and embellishments.

The inspiration photo has a wonderful, carefree, casual feel to it. It reminded of sunny country days, picking wild flowers and making daisy chain tiaras. He loves me . . . he loves me not.

I used white card stock for the base, and propped up the blue background panel with a little bit of craft foam. I loved the idea of the open box and handle and it inspired the cutaway window tag. I made a double tag and added a pretty green ribbon and a Dainty Flower from Paper Smooches. The cascading white blooms are from the Garden Bouquet, by Poppystamps. I wanted them filling up the space and falling down the card to look lush and full. Each bloom was cut twice, with a little piece of craft foam between each one, and a tiny yellow pearl in the center. The love is from Memory Box Open Studio.

You can find more great inspiration from The Card Concept, and see all the new styles this season!

Thanks for joining me today!

Live your life in color!
