House of Cards February Inspiration

It’s time for a brand new challenge over at House of Cards! This month, the challenge is Shape Up, where the squares are out! I created an octagon shaped card to usher in the Chinese Spring Festival, also known as Chinese New Year! I used to live in China, and I still celebrate Spring Festival every year! 2016 will be the Year of the Monkey! I used gold and red foil papers to create the butterflies and Chinese lanterns, and you should see how it shines when it’s in the light! Octagons always remind me of Asia too, since the number 8 is considered to be an auspicious omen!
