Paper Sweeties Holiday Blog Hop

Hello Everyone!

Thank you all so much for joining us for the Paper Sweeties Holiday Blog Hop! All month long, the crafty elves at Paper Sweeties have been sharing wonderful holiday inspiration from our design team and invited guests, crafty holiday challenges, and amazing prizes too! There’s still plenty of time to visit Paper Sweeties and be inspired this season! Check out the Paper Sweeties blog right here:

Today, our Paper Sweeties design team is sharing our absolute faves from 2016! This year, I made so many Paper Sweeties projects it was hard to choose! I had some CAS inspired designs stamped with Paper Sweeties images and colored with bright copics, along with more detailed paper crafted cards and tags. here’s my 2016 selection!

I selected this card because it is a little combination of both! I love the elaborate window die cut! It was easy to turn into a fun shaker with a bright watercolor background. I love the bright colors against the clean, crisp, white. I also added a little paper shaping and folding too, which is always my first love!

Take a look at what the team has selected for you in 2016!

Of course, I had to throw in a bonus look too! It IS the holidays and a little splurge is good for everyone! This Autumn tag is colorful and bright, and features so many things I love about Paper Sweeties, like the big scripty die cut words! I kept the design flat to lay flat in an envelope or on a gift.

Thank you so much for being a part of the Paper Sweeties family all year long! We’ll be back in 2017 with new inspiration and ideas, fresh new challenges, and prizes too!

Happy Holidays from all of here at Paper Sweeties!

The Heart Desires

Hello Everyone!

Today I am sharing this colorful Christmas card for The Heart Desires Challenge #7! I fell in love with the bright images of the inspiration photo, and I’m so glad I found a few minutes to play along. You can get all the details and link up your cheerful card at The Heart Desires right here:

There is so much to love about these holiday images, and so much that I wanted to include! I wrote that I was lucky I had a few minutes to play along, but I really meant I had a few minutes to do a quick blog post! This card actually took me quite a while to create the other day. I kept making more and more pieces to add on, and playing around in different colors. Finally I focused on the colors, the shades of pink, the blues, and a touch of green and I finally made it work!

Having all of your wonderful love and support has filled my heart in 2016! Thank you all for your enthusiastic comments, and for following along and joining me almost every day!

All of us here at Crimson Owl Creations will be taking a little break to spend the holidays with friends and family. I have a pre-scheduled post or two coming up, and then it’s back to work in the craft studio! You’ll see some wonderful projects making their debut on January 1st!

Happy Holidays!

Gingerbread Ville

Hello Everyone!

It’s gingerbread season! Growing up, the only time we ever saw gingerbread was when it part of a house: dry, hard, covered in frosting mortar, stuck with stale candy. We never made it or ate it, and it ranked up there with fruitcake! Until we moved down South and attended Mr. Crimson Owl’s holiday office party, I never even knew gingerbread could be soft, chewy, and delicious! Mr. Crimson Owl’s former co-worker now has a home bakery business, and we make sure to order her gingerbread every year! This year, I was inspired to make a cute little gingerbread scene from the Inspired by All the Little Things #37 challenge. You can get all the details and play along right here:

I love how pretty the gingerbread cookies look in the photo! But I thought “outside the jar” and created a little winter scene made out of gingerbread! I wanted the scene to look flat like cookies, stuck in the snow with a little bit of frosting!

Thank you so much for joining me today!

12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist: Day 11

Hello Everyone!

The 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist are just about ready to wrap up, so I’m slipping in my last tag. Here’s all the details right here:

The theme for Day 11 is Country Christmas, and I just fell in love with Kittie Caracciola’s tag! Take a look at Kittie’s tag right here:

Kittie’s tag is just gorgeous, and usually I would be all over a fabulous tag loaded with layers of dimension and texture. But today, I made a very simple version of a country tag, inspired by Kittie’s branch wreath, pine boughs, and country patterned paper.

Yes, I’m still fighting this cold! It feels like I’ve had it for WEEKS but it’s really been much less time than that. Thank you all for your well wishes! I AM getting better, but not fast enough! I hope all of you are in good health and spirits as we all celebrate the holidays!

Thank you all so much for joining me today!
