Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop Wrap Up!

Hello Everyone!

Today is the final day of the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! I am wrapping up my entries with today’s final card, a salute to spring tea! There’s still a little time left to link up your coffee or tea inspired projects right here: http://coffeelovingcardmakers.com/2017/03/2017-spring-coffee-lovers-blog-hop/

I wanted to create something special for the big wrap-up, so I made this pretty tea time tag that I will use to send someone special a little Happy Mail surprise! I also have something special for all of you too, some blog candy!

All you have to do is leave a comment on this post, or any of my other Coffee Lovers Blog Hop posts from March 24 -31. One random winner will be selected to win Coffee Nut m&m’s and a Starbucks gift card.

I also wanted to thank the amazing Amy Tsuruta for organizing this spectacular hop every season. With entries surpassing the quadruple digit mark, her ability to comment on nearly every single entry is phenomenal! How does she do it? I bet coffee helps!

I would also like to thank all of our super sponsors who offer us all some truly generous prizes and flash surprises, and the companies that keep designing all these fun coffee and tea stamps and dies. Keep them coming, and remember the stand alone detailed dies too (for us paper crafting lovers)! Thanks also to each and every blogger who offers blog candy too! It is so much fun to come across a surprise chance for a little extra lagniappe of ribbon, sequins, twine, or a gift card. Crafters are the best, am I right?

Finally, I would like to thank all of you in the crafting community who create beautiful coffee inspired cards and projects and share them on the hop all week. I love seeing fresh new ideas, beautiful craftsmanship, and something new every season! I have seen some really amazing masterpieces so far, and it’s not even over! I wish I could have left comments on ALL of your cards, but I was finally done in by store fronts, house numbers, mountains, rivers. street signs, cars, and clicking my way around a sign post! I’ll see you all this summer!

Thank you all so much for joining me today!

Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop: Wake Up to Coffee!

Wake Up, folks! It’s time for spring and time for the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! This sleepy bear has finally rolled on over for a big black cup ‘o joe! You can get all the details and link up your coffee inspired card right here: http://coffeelovingcardmakers.com/2017/03/2017-spring-coffee-lovers-blog-hop/

I have been making a lot of my “watercolor grid” cards lately, and I have been receiving a few questions on how I make them. Today I am showing you a tiny tutorial on just how easy breezy a pretty background grid is to make.

I start with some inexpensive watercolor paints, a little water misting bottle, and a piece of watercolor paper. Even scraps and odd pieces will work too!

I mist the paper to get it nice and wet, and then just paint on whatever colors that suits my fancy! Today I am doing a very simple spring pinks and yellows palette. Sometimes I will do more complicated ombres, rainbow color washes, or a combination of colors that will best compliment the images on my card. I always start with a simple layer of paint puddles, like this, and then add paint splatters, or dripping paint, or more puddles, allowing each layer to dry before adding the next.

I then cut out the tiny squares that I will arrange in a pattern on a card stock base. I usually use one inch stitched squares, because I love square cards, but I also use circles, octagons, rectangles, anything you’d like to arrange into a pattern. Then I add my die cut images. See? Easy Breezy!

All you have to do is leave a comment and one lucky winner will be selected at random to win actual blog candy! Yes that’s right, Coffee Nut m&m’s and a Starbucks gift card!

One winner will be selected from all the comments left on my blog posts during the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop from March 24 – 31!

The Heart Desires Challenge #10

Hello Everyone!

Today I am playing along with The Heart Desires, one of my very favorite challenge blogs! There’s still a little bit of time left to play along with this month’s challenge at The Heart Desires right here: http://theheartdesiresblog.blogspot.com/2017/03/the-heart-desires-challenge-10.html

There’s so much to love about each of these wonderful inspiration photos! So much, in fact, that I was overwhelmed in what direction to go! I was really drawn to the shape of octagon maps on the wall. How cool is that? After I made the octagon pattern, I was really stumped, and sat on this for about a month! I finally added the seagulls and shouted “Ahoy!” This card has launched! The seagulls seem to bring it all together.

Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop: Good Wishes

Hello Everyone!

Today I am sharing another card for the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! You can get all the details and link up your fabulous coffee themed card right here: http://coffeelovingcardmakers.com/2017/03/2017-spring-coffee-lovers-blog-hop/

Today, I wanted something really fresh and bright, so I used one of the free digi images created by Julee Tilman and Verve! It sounds like a sweet blessing from the faeries, so I added a glittery faerie and some cheerful tulips, and passed these good wishes on to all of you!

Along with good wishes comes a little treat, Blog Candy! Just leave a comment and one random winner will be selected to win this amazing bag of actual candy and a Starbucks gift card!

One winner will be selected from all of the comments left during my posts for the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, March 24 – 31.
