Holiday and/or Colors

To be honest, I really had a hard time with this month’s challenge! My first attempt was much to literal of an interpretation – -I had coffee mugs and pine needles, and it just looked way too dark and clunky. But then I tried something completely different, creating a wreath of beautiful stitched leaves in shades of green, gray, and purplish red, a bit of a variation of the color palette. I finally achieved what I wanted originally, lots of texture and a feeling of the wintry outdoors!

Take a look at how our design team felt inspired too!

This is just gorgeous and I love how you described the process of designing it. I tend to think that I need to do a literal interpretation of a challenge and often get stuck when I don’t “feel” it. This is a reminder that an inspiration photo is just that…a starting point. Love the gray wood grained background with those bright cheery leaves!
