August Challenge with House of Cards

Hello Everyone!

It’s time for another fun challenge at House of Cards, and we have a great inspiration for you this month!

We’d like to see your ideas using patterned paper, and/or this bright and bold color palette!

Patterned Paper and/or Colors

You can get all the information, and link up your Patterned Paper project over at The House of Cards blog right here: http://houseofcardschallenge.blogspot.com
I found a nice piece of beautiful hand-made marbled paper in my scrap paper box! I carefully cut it out in this intricate honeycomb pattern using the Birch Press Honeybee Layer A! Usually, when I cut patterns like this, most of the little hexagons stay within the paper frame. But this time, because marbled paper like this is so thin, all the tiny hexagons flew all over the place, and I had to carefully gather them up and reassemble them like a puzzle. It was NOT easy with all those swirly lines and whorls. Originally I was going to add little bees, but then decided on the tiny boat instead, to go with this wavy blue pattern, which reminds me of Japanese wave paper. I focused the pattern paper on the background, and made the Poppystamps Wooden Rowboat in blue and white.

Take a look at what our design team has created for you this month!

Wow, what a fussy job, Michele!! … but oh, how beautiful! I love your tiny boat and the wavy pattern. – The colors look so refreshing and invite to take a dip! ….with this hot weather that we currently have, we would like to spend the whole day in the water! 😉
Hope you have great summer weather too…
    Hugs, Rosi

Oh, I just love that little rowboat die from PoppyStamps, and what a lot of die cutting and pasting, eek! Love how you used the same blue for the rowboat that is found in the marbled paper. What a fun design, so full of movement!
