Falling Leaves and Scary Things with Poppystamps October Challenge!

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to a brand new monthly challenge at Poppystamps! All month long, we are celebrating Falling Leaves and Scary Things, and we would love for you all to play along for an opportunity to win some special trick or treat blog candy from Poppystamps! You can get all the details, link up your October inspiration project, and find more great ideas from our design team over on the Poppystamps blog right here: http://poppystamps.typepad.com/poppystamps/

Do you remember as a kid watching that classic cartoon where a great, magical pumpkin rises out of of the pumpkin patch, bringing candy to all the boys and girls? Every year, I would wait and hope that THIS year it would actually happen. This year, I decided to create my own magic pumpkin rising up out of the pumpkin patch, with Poppystamps dies, YUPO paper and alcohol inks.

This Magic Pumpkin card combines alcohol ink on YUPO, along with another brand new technique for me, the galaxy background. I had never created one before, and it was so easy. My background galaxy was created by blending distress oxide inks onto a card panel, then splattering it with a wet paintbrush, causing the inks to react to the water droplets.

Alcohol inks dripped on YUPO paper create beautifully blended designs with vivid, saturated color! Both of these cards were made with alcohol and YUPO, and I have used parts of them for different projects. As it turned out, the scraps I had saved were large enough to cut out my Poppystamps Bat Ring, Swirl Pumpkin, and Leafy Breeze leaves.

Now it’s your turn! We can’t wait to see how you will be inspired! Link up your project over on Poppystamps and show us your Falling Leaves and Scary Things!

Thanks so much for joining us today!
