Giving Thanks!

Hello Everyone!

Today I am sharing a very special Thank You card I created for a special special artist and designer, Sean Fetterman! Sean participated in the Season’s Giving Blog Hop and offered an AMAZING prize package to one lucky person, and that person was me! Take a look at the box full of crafty goodness that arrived in the mail last week!

Yes, that is a full-sized MISTI right on top of the package, in addition to beautiful dies and stamps from Gina K. Designs, adhesives, Foil-Mates, paper, inks, and so much more! It is a truly amazing package, and I couldn’t be happier to receive it!

This package had the most circuitous route imaginable! It started in frozen Minnesota, made it’s way to our old address in Alabama, and SHOULD have come right to our door! However, we used to live right OUTSIDE the city of Tuscaloosa in a tiny little rural burg known as Buhl. The postmaster in Buhl sent the package to our new forwarding address here in Florida two days earlier than scheduled, and so all the crafty goodies left for Florida before we did! Eventually it arrived on the beautiful Treasure Coast, and what a treasure it was! Thanks again to the wonderfully inspirational Sean Fetterman.

My wish for us all is to never forget, or neglect, the people who provide so many blessings in our lives that we are all so grateful.  This past month, I have seen the absolute very best in people, right along with the absolute worst in others. We are so grateful for those wonderful kind people in our lives, old friends and new, all a part of our extended family. Thank you ALL for being the absolute BEST people on earth, helping us to overcome the aftermath of the truly worst.

Thanks so much for joining us today!

Time Out Challenge #101

Hello Everyone!

Today I am playing along with a fun little challenge, and one of my favorites, Time Out! I love how we are inspired by something new every week! You can get all the details and play along with Time Out right here:

I absolutely LOVE this phrase, and when I first saw it, I wanted to create something that was a more literal interpretation of the idea of a gift. I fell in love with Michele Ferguson’s guest designer inspiration, a dove with a gift, and I was inspired by the gift of peace. But then I thought much more deeply about peace, from peace on a large global political scale to peace on a very personal level.

I bet many of us remember about a month ago, when people shared their brand new “words” for 2018. Last year, my word was “love” and I had worked to be more expressive with the love I had for the people in my life. It’s easy to love the people who love us.

However, as 2017 drew to a close, our little family faced some difficult challenges, as my husband was downsized after the company he had been with for 19 years closed his department, unexpectedly. We are still picking up the pieces, and hope and pray that our next, new thing will be here soon! All of this “down time” we have had recently has caused me to reflect about the events in my life that led me to this here and now, and the relationships that have been so amazing, and the relationships that have slipped through our fingers.

My “word” for 2018 is RELATIONSHIPS.

I have lost a few relationships over the years, and not all were due to some catastrophic fall-out. We just let them slide and now it seems weird or awkward to try and reconnect with some folks again. If we can’t make peace with former friends, how can we make peace with our enemies? What stops us? What keeps us from moving forward? Fear.

So, this “gift” is some good advice, advice to myself, advice to us all, Let your faith be bigger than your fear.

Thank you so much for joining us today.

The Heart Desires Challenge #12

Hello Everyone!

I’m back in the craft room again after a little time away, and I couldn’t be happier to play along with this month’s challenge from The Heart Desires. There is so much color and cheeriness in the inspiration photo that I couldn’t decide what to create! I just kept adding element after element until I remembered a brand new die I hadn’t even used yet, this cute pail from Impression Obsession. So I went with a simple, striking design and it turned out great! You can get all the details and play along with The Heart Desires right here:

If you look closely at the top right photo, you will find a tiny blue glass with gold trim. That was the main inspiration for my card, which features a blue pail with a gold handle. I had to fill it with tiny roses too.

Thank you so much for joining me today!

Fusion Challenge

Our friends at Fusion have a beautiful inspiration photo this week that I just fell in love with! The scene is both elegant, yet a little casual too, as if the flowers were gathered outside that morning. I was inspired by the deep blues and pinks of the flowers and the interesting lay-out. I used the last of this beautiful elegant paper that I have that always reminded me of an 18th century tapestry of a nature scene. You can play along with fusion right here:
