Today I am playing along with a fun little challenge, and one of my favorites, Time Out! I love how we are inspired by something new every week! You can get all the details and play along with Time Out right here: http://timeoutchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/2018/01/challenge-101.html
I absolutely LOVE this phrase, and when I first saw it, I wanted to create something that was a more literal interpretation of the idea of a gift. I fell in love with Michele Ferguson’s guest designer inspiration, a dove with a gift, and I was inspired by the gift of peace. But then I thought much more deeply about peace, from peace on a large global political scale to peace on a very personal level.
I bet many of us remember about a month ago, when people shared their brand new “words” for 2018. Last year, my word was “love” and I had worked to be more expressive with the love I had for the people in my life. It’s easy to love the people who love us.
However, as 2017 drew to a close, our little family faced some difficult challenges, as my husband was downsized after the company he had been with for 19 years closed his department, unexpectedly. We are still picking up the pieces, and hope and pray that our next, new thing will be here soon! All of this “down time” we have had recently has caused me to reflect about the events in my life that led me to this here and now, and the relationships that have been so amazing, and the relationships that have slipped through our fingers.
My “word” for 2018 is RELATIONSHIPS.
I have lost a few relationships over the years, and not all were due to some catastrophic fall-out. We just let them slide and now it seems weird or awkward to try and reconnect with some folks again. If we can’t make peace with former friends, how can we make peace with our enemies? What stops us? What keeps us from moving forward? Fear.
So, this “gift” is some good advice, advice to myself, advice to us all, Let your faith be bigger than your fear.
Thank you so much for joining us today.
Live your life in color.
