Fusion Card Challenge

Hello Everybody!

I think I am just under the wire, but I had to play along with this week’s fun Fusion Challenge, Pastel Pencils! When I first saw the inspiration photo, I started working on it, but every time I sat down to work, I was distracted with other tasks. But something about these colorful pencils in a cup really spoke to me. You can get all the details and play along (if you hurry), over at The Fusion Challenge blog right here: http://fusioncardchallenge.blogspot.com/2017/08/fusion-pastel-pencils.html

This month, my hubbie and I received some news that came as a bit of a shock. After 19 years with his company, he and his entire department were eliminated, downsized, let go. It’s devastating to think that after picking up everything and moving down South here to Alabama a few years ago, that we would be starting all over once again.  Our plan is to relocate to a new location, and we have a few places in mind. I may be blogging a little less over the next few weeks, but we sure would appreciate you sending your prayers and thoughts and good luck charms our way! We are hoping and praying that this shut door will open a new window of opportunity for us very, very soon!

I made this card while thinking about my hubbie and I. We both are creative, artistic souls. He worked his way up as a talented graphic designer to the production supervisor, so I guess a little bit of ink and bling is a part of us, running through our veins like life blood. Despite this setback, we will keep going, living our lives in color. We appreciate all the love and support you have given to us both and to Crimson Owl Creations.

Here is the list of dies that I have used:

Paper Smooches: Mason Jars

Papertrey Ink: Pencil me In

Sugar Pea Designs: Sugar Cut Heartbeat

Working on the Weekend

Hello Everyone!

The weekend is here, and these little chicks are getting to work, getting ready for Easter! I wish they would come and work in my yard! We have been having spring storms all week long and the yard is a mess, but a beautiful shade of green!

Since these little chicks are such hard workers, I am entering them in two challenges!

I was really inspired by the yellow and pinks in the wooden flower box in the inspiration challenge photo from Fusion. It feels like Easter in so many ways!

Fusion Challenge: Paris Rain

Hello Everyone!

Today I am playing along with the Fusion Card Challenge, Paris Rain! This week’s inspiration photos has been one of my very favorite! I’d love to have this on the wall of my studio! There’s still a little time to play along with the Fusion Challenge right here: http://fusioncardchallenge.blogspot.com/2017/03/fusion-paris-rain.html

I didn’t really create any fusion; I just used the pretty inspiration photo. I loved the bright oranges combined with the shades of gray, and of course, I had to have an actual Eiffel Tower! I have a tiny collection of Eiffel Towers and prints in my house! If any of you, my crafty friends, would like to send me a card with an Eiffel Tower on it, I would add it to the collection and send you one too! We’ll spread our Eiffel Tower love art around the world!

Thank you so much for joining me today!

Fusion Challenge

Hello Everyone!

Today I am playing along with the Fusion Challenge with a clean and crisp nautical themed card! You can get all the details and play along with Fusion right here: http://fusioncardchallenge.blogspot.com/2017/03/fusion-scrambled-letters.html

I love the crisp white space of the inspiration photo, and the nautical feel. I fused the sketch and the photo a little bit by making the globe the main focus, and adding the shiny black anchor. It reminds me of little boys and toy boats and dreams of sailing the world.

Hello Everybody!

Today I am playing along with the Fusion Challenge, Interlocking Hearts! You can link up your heart creation and get all the details over at The Fusion Blog right here: http://fusioncardchallenge.blogspot.com/

fusionvalentine

When I first saw the inspiration photo, I was really drawn to the idea of a quilt, and the hearts looking like a pattern on a quilt. So I fused the sketch and the photo a little by using a round shape, the romantic colors, the tiny flowers, the open hearts, and the long shape of the sketch, creating a pretty quilt sample.
