25 Days of Christmas Tags: NOEL

Hello Everyone!

Today I am playing along with the 25 Days of Christmas Tags, sponsored by Tracey McNeely, from In My Creative Opinion! You can find more great tag ideas and inspiration, and link up your tiny tags over on Tracey’s blog right here: https://inmycreativeopinion.blogspot.com/2018/10/the-25-days-of-christmas-tags-2018-main.html

When I saw today’s tag, created by Virginia Lu from Day 2, I immediately fell in love! I have this beautiful poinsettia stamp from Poppystamps new release, and I have been excited to try out a “new to me technique.” I stamped the poinsettias, and embossed them with a pretty white embossing  powder and a heat gun. Then I watercolored the flowers and leaves, cut them out and added them on to my tag! I think it turned out great!

I loved Virginia’s color palette, and the flower as the main focal point. I can’t wait to try a few more using different colors of embossing powders.

Thanks so much for joining me today!

25 Days of Christmas Tags: Alpine Style

Hello Everyone!

Today I am sharing a new tag I created for the 25 Days of Christmas Tags, sponsored by Tracey McNeeley, from In My Creative Opinion. You can get all the details and link up your holiday tags over on Tracey’s blog right here: http://inmycreativeopinion.blogspot.com

I love the round shape of my tag, which features a festive Poppystamps Seed Snowflake Outline from the new release. I love the Alpine style and the color combination too! It was inspired by Kim Heggins from Day 7, found right here: http://inmycreativeopinion.blogspot.com/2018/11/the-25-days-of-christmas-tags-2018-day-7.html

Kim’s tag is so pretty, it was easy to find holiday inspiration! I almost added tiny red ruby jewels to my own tag, like Kim’s, but my goal is create tags that I will actually use on gifts this year! All of my gifts need to be mailed across the country in a big box, so that means flat tags and no bows. I like this tag so much I think I will create a few more in a few different colors!

I made my kitty grey, with a bright orange sweater! The tag and tag toppers are from Reverse Confetti, and the stamp set is from Poppystamps!

2018 Cat Lovers Hop Day 3

Hello Everyone!

It is Day 3 of the paw some 2018 Cat Lovers Hop! I am having so much fun playing along with the games, seeing everyone’s amazing kitty card creations, and reading all the wonderful comments you have been leaving for me! Keep those comments coming, and you might be randomly selected as my blog candy winner! You can link up your projects over at Janis’s blog, Her Peaceful Garden, right here: https://herpeacefulgarden.blogspot.com/2018/10/main-hop-post-2018-cat-lovers-hop.html

Today I am sharing a spooky little coffee loving Halloween kitty! I stamped the background with Distress Oxide Inks and splatters of water, which reacts with the ink to create little puddles of color. It’s so much fun to create one of a kind galaxy backgrounds!

We just can’t have a Halloween kitty without a treat, so here is a treat for you! This adorable little canvas pouch, filled with goodies, will be on its way to one lucky winner! Just leave a comment and your email on this post, or on any of my posts during the 2018 cat Lovers Hop, and you might be selected as the winner!

Falling Leaves and Scary Things with Poppystamps October Challenge!

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to a brand new monthly challenge at Poppystamps! All month long, we are celebrating Falling Leaves and Scary Things, and we would love for you all to play along for an opportunity to win some special trick or treat blog candy from Poppystamps! You can get all the details, link up your October inspiration project, and find more great ideas from our design team over on the Poppystamps blog right here: http://poppystamps.typepad.com/poppystamps/

Do you remember as a kid watching that classic cartoon where a great, magical pumpkin rises out of of the pumpkin patch, bringing candy to all the boys and girls? Every year, I would wait and hope that THIS year it would actually happen. This year, I decided to create my own magic pumpkin rising up out of the pumpkin patch, with Poppystamps dies, YUPO paper and alcohol inks.

This Magic Pumpkin card combines alcohol ink on YUPO, along with another brand new technique for me, the galaxy background. I had never created one before, and it was so easy. My background galaxy was created by blending distress oxide inks onto a card panel, then splattering it with a wet paintbrush, causing the inks to react to the water droplets.

Alcohol inks dripped on YUPO paper create beautifully blended designs with vivid, saturated color! Both of these cards were made with alcohol and YUPO, and I have used parts of them for different projects. As it turned out, the scraps I had saved were large enough to cut out my Poppystamps Bat Ring, Swirl Pumpkin, and Leafy Breeze leaves.

Now it’s your turn! We can’t wait to see how you will be inspired! Link up your project over on Poppystamps and show us your Falling Leaves and Scary Things!

Thanks so much for joining us today!
