Fond Farewell to Tag You’re It Challenge!

One of my very favorite challenges has recently closed the craft room door, and wrapped up their last challenge. Tag You’re It Challenge , known as TYIC, has said goodbye after nearly 4 years, and I am wishing them a fond farewell. Thanks for all the wonderful memories! You can read their final post over at the Tag You’re It Challenge blog right here:

I had the amazing good fortune to have won a Tag You’re It challenge, which meant I had the honor of being asked to become a guest designer. Yes, it was a HUGE honor for me!

I tried to enter the Tag You’re It challenge as often as I could, always trying to grab another elusive win! The bar was set very high, which is why I enjoyed the challenge so much! I love creating tags, and as a die cut queen, trying to arrange tiny cuts of paper into pretty tags was another way to push my creativity a little more every month. What can I do with THAT inspiration, I would ask myself again and again.

As a result, I was chosen as a Tag You’re It Challenge Favorite again and again, so many times that I lost count! I loved being inspired by my favorite TYIC designers, like Miriam, Donna, Tracey, Jeanne, Nancy, Marybeth, Karin, Anja, Leigh, Joyce, Marion, Kelly, Lynn, Erin, Carol, Kara Lynne, Bobby, Jen, Susan, and many more guest designers and winners along the way! I had always hoped that I could join the TYIC team as a designer one day!

Thank you to all of the TYIC designers that have inspired me these past few years! Today, in honor of TYIC, I am sharing some of my very favorite TYIC designs along the way. Some of these are winners, some are challenge favorites, and some are just MY favorites! I hope you have enjoyed taking part in TYIC challenges as much as I have over the years.

Best wishes to everyone at TYIC!

Pretty in Pink

Hello Everyone,

There is a little bit of time left to play along with this week’s Tag You’re It Challenge #69. Featured artist Joyce Mehrberg created this adorable inspiration tag that featured a little pink kitty! Of course, I had to play along, and I am so glad I had a little bit of time to make my own version with a pink kitty! You can get all the details and play along over at Tag You’re It right here:

Instead of using a large focal point of a big pom pom or a pretty bow, I used a tiny pink pom pom instead. I like the idea that alone, we may be just one, a small inspiration, a tiny ripple. But together, those tiny ripples create big waves of resistance, change, of accepting what is right. It’s easier when we come together, to resist and reject dishonorable people and ideas, and to make the world a better place.

Tag You’re It Challenge #61

Hello Everyone!

Today I am playing along with tag You’re It Challenge #61! I love the look of Loll’s tag. It reminds me of the northern lights. When I photographed this picture, it was later in the afternoon. I usually photograph my projects around 11:00am, before the afternoon sun makes the office too hot. So I hadn’t even noticed until I was cropping the picture to put on my blog, that the sun had left these long, bright streaks across the tag! I probably should reshoot it, but I love how it looks! You can get all the details and link up your creation right here:

I love the shades of green, but I also really liked the snow covered branches. So I tried something new and added white texture paste to the branches and the ground to look like snow. I love the way it feels!

It started out as a great idea, but then turned into a big gooey mess. But it’s fun and artsy so I’m going to keep it and use it on a gift this year too! Be merry!

Thank you so much for joining me today!

Tag You’re It #47

Bonjour Everyone!

It’s time for another Tag You’re It Challenge! This week’s tag is from Jeanne Jachna, and I loved the color palette she used! It reminds me of France. So, I created a tag with my own version of two little French bees, madly in love of course! You can still play along right here:

Tres belle!

Tag You’re It Challenge #45

Hello everyone! Today I’m sharing a tag I created for Tag You’re It Challenge #45! I made this easy breezy dragonfly tag with some shiny red and yellow vellum. I usually make tags without sentiments, but this one from STAMPlorations seemed the perfect fit! You can play along and enter your tag at Tag You’re It right here:

TYIC #45_Carol

Carol’s tag inspiration is just so bright and cheerful! I wanted to capture some of that bright, warm color and make someone feel cheerful too! Dragonflys have always been a symbol of change, so I say, welcome to new things!

Tag You’re It Challenge #42

TYIC #42_marybeth

Hello everyone! Today I am honored to be a guest designer for Tag You’re It Challenge #42! I love today’s challenge inspiration from Marybeth Lopez! You can find more inspiration from the talented tag You’re It Design Team and link up your tag right here:

I wanted to capture that bright and cheerful pink color palette in my floral inspired Easter tag. I used a combination of some of my favorite dies, and used watercolors to paint the background. I used a burnisher to make the flowers more of a bowl shape, and a tiny foam pop dot for the bunny.

I also added a little bit of glitter glue on the stamens for a different look. I haven’t decided which version I like better!

We can’t wait to see how you’ll be inspired with TYIC #42!

Tag You’re It #40

It’s time for a Tag You’re It Challenge! This week, Jen Michel has given us all a colorful heart for our inspiration. You can get all the details and play along right here:

I created a bold tag with some bold love! These elements came together in a unusual way, and I love the result! I started out with something completely different in mind, then just started playing with other dies and then it clicked! It’s like a big “people’s love,” or a power to the people tag! Perfect for love!

As a created this tag, I thought about a wonderful lady I met through this blog who gave me a Reverse Confetti gift card I used to purchase the Globe die. She’s taking a blogging break for a while, and I realized how much I miss her cheerful comments on a regular basis! Isn’t it wonderful the friendships and connections we can make by doing this?

I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you who follow my blog, or pop in and see what I’m doing every now and then, and leave me such wonderful comments! I read each and every single one, and I am grateful for all of you who take the time to jot down a few lines. I appreciate you taking the time to leave me some blog love!
