Happy Birthday Taylored Expressions

Hello Everyone!

Today I am sharing a quick little birthday card I created to wish Taylored Expressions a VERY happy 9th Birthday! You can wish them a Happy Birthday, and link up your festive card over at the taylored Expressions Blog right here:  https://tayloredexpressions.com/blog/blog/2017/08/31/te-9th-birthday-sketch-challenge/

I used one of my very favorite Taylored Expressions dies, the cute little donuts! It turns out, donuts go with just about anything!

Fusion Card Challenge

IMG_3011-wm

Hello Everyone,

I have just returned from an amazing holiday in a fantastic beach house on Folly Beach, South Carolina! Every day, we would watch the sun rise and set over the ocean from our private balcony, while dolphins splashed and crabs scurried across the beach! It was heaven! Now that I’m back home, my thoughts are still in Charleston, my new favorite American city! So, I just had to play along with a nautical inspired challenge from Fusion. You can play along too and link up your creation right here: http://fusioncardchallenge.blogspot.com/

I was inspired by the great American summer colors – -red, white, and blue, and the wonderful nautical theme! I also got a chance to use two brand new dies I recently received from Taylored Expressions too! I love the little fishing boat. Charleston is an amazing foodie town too. I had the best Shrimp and Grits of my entire life at Tommy Condon’s! So here is my port ‘o call from Charleston, lighthouses, shrimp boats, and beautiful sand and surf!

Hello Everybody!

I fell in love with this gorgeous inspiration photo from the Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge! I was so inspired by the galvanized pail and the color of those brilliant blooms! You can play along with Taylored Expressions and link up your creation right here: http://sharejoychallenge.blogspot.com/2016/05/share-joy-challenge-34-sketch.html

I mostly took my inspiration just from the photo, but I did draw on the asymmetry of the sketch too. I love the spring feel! I will sharing this card with a crafty friend of mine who I recently began sending cards and letters. I think she’ll like this one!

All the elements on the card were made with my old workhorse, the Big Kick! I painted the watercolor background with inexpensive watercolor paints on watercolor paper, let it dry, then cut them all out with a die I have been using a lot all spring, Small Stitched Square Stackables, from Lawn Fawn.  It turned out great!

Taylored Expressions Share Joy #20

SJC20

Hi everybody! Today I’m posting a bright and cheery CAS inspired tag on a dark and stormy day outside! Taylored Expressions Share Joy is one of my favorite challenges and I hate to miss even a single one! You can get all the details and play along right here: http://sharejoychallenge.blogspot.com/2016/01/share-joy-challenge-20-sketch-and-clean.html

This little tag only took a few minutes to make with just a few die cuts, so that’s very CAS for me! I’m going to tie it around a little gift for my sister when we meet up at the Gulf Coast soon! We like to get together and have a little wine!

Taylored Expressions has a wonderful challenge every week, and I’m always thrilled when I have some time to play along. You can get all the details and play along right here: http://www.sharejoychallenge.blogspot.com/2016/01/share-joy-challenge-18-sketch.html

With the weather so cold and gloomy outside today, I decide to make a bright little tag. I really used just the sketch, but then added a little LOVE from the photo. This tag is going to be tied to a gift for a friend of mine, who loves yellow. I’m sending her a little love!

Taylored Expressions Share Joy is one of my favorite challenges. I love the idea of creating cards that you know you are going to send to someone! You can link up your project here: http://sharejoychallenge.blogspot.com/2015/10/share-joy-challenge-9-sketch-color.html

I created a CAS inspired card that will lay flat and fit nicely inside an envelope. It may be an unusual Christmas color combination, but I love the sentiment, and I love seeing Christmas themes in modern color combinations too.

This card is part of my Easy Breezy Christmas collection, a set of cards that I am creating and assembling for the Caring Hearts Card Drive, which runs from October 3 – November 27. I will be including this modern color Christmas card in with my Caring Hearts bundle.

Share Joy Challenge #7

I love these wonderful Share Joy Challenges from Taylored Expressions! This week, the challenge is to use one, both, or either sketch in this fun Tic Tac Toe game. You can play along and get all the details right here: http://www.sharejoychallenge.blogspot.com/2015/10/share-joy-challenge-7-sketch-tic-tac-toe.html

IMG_2208-wm

I started the challenge by sort of combining both sketches, with the focal flora and fauna in the lower left corner, and playing the Tic Tac Toe game with pumpkins, orange, and distressing.  I used the new Distressed Snowdrift Collage by Memory Box to cut these openings in the top panel of my card, but then I wondered, is it really distressed? It looks very nice and clean, and I love this pretty cutaway panel effect.

So I decided to cover a few more bases and officially use the Tic Tac Toe board for die-cuts, orange, and sequins! I did add a few more little Gourds and Pumpkins from Poppystamps on the inside panel too! I will be sharing this card with my sister for a nice pumpkin surprise!
