Love is In the Air with The Card Concept #108

Hello Crafty Friends!

I am so glad you could drop by today and see our newest challenge from The Card Concept, Love is in the Air!  This week, our beautiful photo inspiration photo features big fluffy pillows in graphic colors and shapes. You can find more great inspiration and ideas, and link up your card over at The Card Concept blog right here: http://thecardconcept.blogspot.com

I was really inspired by these colors and shapes. I like the tiny vertical lines of the oblong pillow, and the hard angles of all the pillows on the couch. I brought those elements in to my Clean and Graphic card, and then added that pop of red in the hearts and the pencil. After struggling with a big pile of die cuts and ideas, it finally all came together for me and I fell in love with the graphic punch this card brings.

Now it’s your turn! We can’t wait to see what you’ll create!  Show us that Love is in the Air over at The Card Concept this week!

Thanks so much for joining us today!

The Card Concept 107: Rainbow Cupcakes

Hello Crafty Friends!

I am so glad that you have joined us today for our newest challenge at The Card Concept, Rainbow Cupcakes! We have a super cute inspiration photo for you this week that you are going to love! Take a look right here: http://thecardconcept.blogspot.com

There are so many ways to be inspired by this tower of colorful cupcakes! First off, I decided to play around with different ways to make a dark background with a little texture. I used a die cut cover plate in the deep blue, then cut a second piece in white and moved it off center to make a white edge. Then I used a black panel piece behind it, and voila! I got this awesome shadow effect in black and white. A few sloppy, colorful, run away from the humdrum pile of doughnuts later, and I have a colorful bold and graphic design, with a hint of the freestyle!

We can’t wait to see what you’ll create! Show us your rainbow cupcakes, or doughnuts, or candy kisses! Find some great ideas and inspiration from our design team too, and link up your card over at The Card Concept!

Welcome Back to The Card Concept #106

Hello Friends!

Welcome back to a brand new season with The Card Concept! We are so happy you are joining us today that we are celebrating with a party for Challenge #106, a Pink Party! You can get all the details, link up your Pink Party Creations, and see more ideas and inspiration over on The Card Concept blog right here: http://thecardconcept.blogspot.com

I felt so inspired by our inspiration photo this week! I wanted to capture those big, bright blooms in the vivd shades of pink, so I created this Clean and Layered card. Instead of using black, I selected a very dark navy blue for the circle, which pairs beautifully with those rosy shades. How will you be inspired?

Elegant Holiday with The Card Concept

Hello Everyone!

I am so happy you’ve dropped by today to see what I have created for Challenge #104 at The Card Concept, Elegant Holiday! This is our last challenge of 2018, so we would love to see everybody join in! We’ll be back in 2019 with brand new inspiration and ideas, and more gorgeous inspiration photos you are going to love! You can see what our design team has created for you this week over at The Card Concept blog right here: http://thecardconcept.blogspot.com

The theme is Elegant Holiday, and I just fell in love with the pretty shades of silvery blues and greens, shown in the photo. I wanted to create an elegant and lush card, so I cut a number of branches and twigs in different shades of blue, green, and silver foil paper. But once I added the silvery blue Greenery Bundle from Poppystamps to the corners of the art deco frame, it looked so pretty just as it was! The center panel was created with alcohol inks and YUPO paper, and it reminds me of marble. The card is a Mixed Media, Clean and Layered, Classy and Elegant shiny Christmas wish for us all!
