I fell in love with this inspiration photo! All of these shades of rich, lush, green look beautiful. This photo also reminds me of a life well-lived, full of travel, adventure, movement, chaos, order, memories, collections, a little bit of everything! It’s especially poignant to me since we have just moved, to a brand new state, a brand new career, and a brand new life! Only days ago, we packed up our collection of well-lived memories and headed for the beautiful greenish blue waters of Florida’s Treasure Coast! If you’re in the area, be sure to say hello!

I felt very inspired by the rich green tones, and found this beautiful textured green paper that reminds me of the velvet lining of an old trunk. I love the concept of travel and memories, and the chaotic collection of artifacts that accompany it!

The Card Concept #86: Old Fashioned Love

Hello Everyone!

Have you ever been reminded of an old fashioned love? Maybe it was a movie, or a song, or an old memory, or even today’s inspiration photo from our challenge at The Card Concept this week, Old Fashioned Love! You can get all the details and link up your Old Fashioned Love creation over at The Card Concept blog right here: http://thecardconcept.blogspot.com/

There is just SO much inspiration in this romantic photo, that it was difficult to limit myself to just a few design elements! Those big pink roses just look so pretty, and all the pink girly things reminded me of a lovely Parisian apartment, looking over the park and the Eiffel Tower! Springtime in Paris will always feel romantic no matter the generation or the era. I combined everything I could fit into a true Freestyle Collage card, a collection of unrelated elements. Big pink roses, leaves, birds, hearts, the Eiffel Tower, a shiny gold girly doillie, and of course, some one a little old fashioned too!

Now it’s your turn! We can’t wait to see what you will create!

The Card Concept #85: Rustic Blooms

Hello Everyone!

It’s time for an amazing challenge over at The Card Concept! This week our theme is Rustic Blooms, and we’ve got a beautiful inspiration photo for you that you are going to love! You can find all the details on how to link up your project, and see more great inspiration and ideas from our design team over at The Card Concept blog right here: http://thecardconcept.blogspot.com/

I love this photo of the beautiful, bright flowers in the big glass jug! I was inspired by the colors, the vase, and the rustic wooden planks and wanted to include those elements in my freestyle collage card.

it’s very difficult to tell from the card photos, but to create the background for my card, I used a woodgrain pattern paper and cut a row of thin strips and mounted them to a card base, then cut the entire base with a stitched square die. This gives the card a beautiful texture and a great wooden plank look too.

Now it’s your turn! We can’t wait to see what you will create!
