Fond Farewell to Tag You’re It Challenge!

One of my very favorite challenges has recently closed the craft room door, and wrapped up their last challenge. Tag You’re It Challenge , known as TYIC, has said goodbye after nearly 4 years, and I am wishing them a fond farewell. Thanks for all the wonderful memories! You can read their final post over at the Tag You’re It Challenge blog right here: http://tagyoureitchallenge.blogspot.ca/

I had the amazing good fortune to have won a Tag You’re It challenge, which meant I had the honor of being asked to become a guest designer. Yes, it was a HUGE honor for me!

I tried to enter the Tag You’re It challenge as often as I could, always trying to grab another elusive win! The bar was set very high, which is why I enjoyed the challenge so much! I love creating tags, and as a die cut queen, trying to arrange tiny cuts of paper into pretty tags was another way to push my creativity a little more every month. What can I do with THAT inspiration, I would ask myself again and again.

As a result, I was chosen as a Tag You’re It Challenge Favorite again and again, so many times that I lost count! I loved being inspired by my favorite TYIC designers, like Miriam, Donna, Tracey, Jeanne, Nancy, Marybeth, Karin, Anja, Leigh, Joyce, Marion, Kelly, Lynn, Erin, Carol, Kara Lynne, Bobby, Jen, Susan, and many more guest designers and winners along the way! I had always hoped that I could join the TYIC team as a designer one day!

Thank you to all of the TYIC designers that have inspired me these past few years! Today, in honor of TYIC, I am sharing some of my very favorite TYIC designs along the way. Some of these are winners, some are challenge favorites, and some are just MY favorites! I hope you have enjoyed taking part in TYIC challenges as much as I have over the years.

Best wishes to everyone at TYIC!

Thanks for joining me today!

Tag You’re It Challenge #75

Hello Everybody!

Today I am playing along with the TYIC Challenge #75. Featured Artist Marcia Hill has created such a pretty scene to welcome in Autumn. If you hurry, you can still play along and link up your Autumn card over at the TYIC Blog right here: http://tagyoureitchallenge.blogspot.com/2017/10/tag-youre-it-75.html

I brought out my copic markers and a few Paper Sweeties stamps to create an Autumn Blessings tag. I had created a card with a similar design for the Paper Sweeties Blog, and always thought it would look pretty on a tag. I added a few highlights with some glitter and glue, to remind me of the frosty mornings ahead for most of us!

This particular Autumn season has been difficult. My hubbie got downsized in August, and we have been busy setting up a lot of Google Hang Outs and traveling for interviews, mostly in Florida where we would like to relocate. We try to remain positive while the process takes so long to complete. Of course, it’s stressful, and full of worries about the future, our security, and how to get to where we want to be. I appreciate the thoughts and prayers, and especially the very sweet cards and notes that I have received from a few crafty friends. That’s one of the things that I am most grateful about this fall! Keep those fingers crossed, those prayers coming, and love in your heart!

Thanks so much for joining me today!

Hello Tag You’re It #56

Hello Everyone!

Today I am sharing a card I created for the Tag You’re It Challenge #56. I fell in love with the inspiration photo from Taheerah Achita, and drew my inspiration from some of her elements, like the pretty shades of pink, the swirled roses, the pen, the glasses, and I included them in my tag. I like the idea of sending a sweet little love note to someone special. You can get all the details and play along right here: http://tagyoureitchallenge.blogspot.ca/2016/09/tag-youre-it-56-taheerah-a.html

The patterned paper I used is double sided, so i added an extra little element to the back too.

I have a special friend that I am going to send this tag too, and include a sweet encouraging note too.

Bonjour Everyone!

It’s time for another Tag You’re It Challenge! This week’s tag is from Jeanne Jachna, and I loved the color palette she used! It reminds me of France. So, I created a tag with my own version of two little French bees, madly in love of course! You can still play along right here: http://tagyoureitchallenge.blogspot.com/2016/05/tag-youre-it-47.html

Tag You’re It Challenge #44

TYIC+%2344_Nancy

Tag You’re It has a gorgeous inspiration tag from Nancy Penir this week! I love the idea of the upside umbrella with clear windows. When I was a little girl, I had one that looked just like it! I wanted to create a card like my cute umbrella! I used these pretty little flower and leaf dies from Paper Sweeties, Thinking of You, and I had originally planned to double up and burnish them, so they curl up with a little dimension. But then they pushed up on the vellum umbrella panels in an unnatural way, so I altered my design a little to create a cheerful spring tag. I think it turned out great!

There’s still a little time left to play along at Tag You’re It!

Tag You’re It #40

It’s time for a Tag You’re It Challenge! This week, Jen Michel has given us all a colorful heart for our inspiration. You can get all the details and play along right here: http://tagyoureitchallenge.blogspot.com/2016/02/tag-youre-it-40.html

I created a bold tag with some bold love! These elements came together in a unusual way, and I love the result! I started out with something completely different in mind, then just started playing with other dies and then it clicked! It’s like a big “people’s love,” or a power to the people tag! Perfect for love!

As a created this tag, I thought about a wonderful lady I met through this blog who gave me a Reverse Confetti gift card I used to purchase the Globe die. She’s taking a blogging break for a while, and I realized how much I miss her cheerful comments on a regular basis! Isn’t it wonderful the friendships and connections we can make by doing this?

I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you who follow my blog, or pop in and see what I’m doing every now and then, and leave me such wonderful comments! I read each and every single one, and I am grateful for all of you who take the time to jot down a few lines. I appreciate you taking the time to leave me some blog love!

Tag You’re It Challenge #38

TYIC%2338_tracey

As soon as I saw Tracey McNeely’s tag for TYIC #38, with that adorable little elephant on it, I knew I had to make my own version of an elephant tag. You can get all the details and play along with tag You’re It right here: http://tagyoureitchallenge.blogspot.com/2016/01/tag-youre-it-38.html

As many of you know, I earned my Masters degree at the University of Alabama, ROLL TIDE! So I had to create a tag that celebrates one of our greatest achievements, winning the National Championship!

My happy little elephant is celebrating Sweet Sixteen, our 16th National Championship! Here in the South, college football is very important, especially in the SEC (Southeastern Conference). We are a tough conference, we have big rivalries, we love to tailgate on weekends in the fall, and we love southern barbecue.

Both my husband and I are UA grads! Our mascot is an elephant named Big Al, and we are known as the Crimson Tide. Way back when, when college football was getting big, a sports reporter commented on the line of big men thundering down the football field in their red jerseys, as a “crimson tide” on their way to victory. Since then, Alabama fans often greet each other with a friendly “Roll Tide!”

With Sweet Sixteen under our belt, our second Heisman Trophy winner #2 Derrick Henry, we shall reign as the National Champions for one more year, showing our Tide Pride, and being part of the Saban Nation (named after Coach Nick Saban). That’s a lot to celebrate this season!
