Celebrating International Women’s Day

Hello Crafty Friends!

What a CRAZY week it has been, right?  It’s times like these when the women of the world show everyone what we’re made of. We put on our big girl panties and do what we have to for our families and our communities. So today, I am celebrating International Women’s Day!

A wonderful group of crafty gals and craft companies have come together to celebrate International Women’s Day with a fabulous Blog and Insta Hop that ends tonight! There’s just a little time left to get your card linked and join in on the celebration! You can find all the details and link up your project right here: https://women-beyoutifullyyou.blogspot.com

The theme for this year’s hop is Empowering Women! I can’t think of a better way to empower the women in our lives than by telling them that they are loved. No matter our sizes and shapes, our colors, our ages, whether we are grandmothers or women without children, our sisters, wives, homemakers and scientists, we are all telling each other, YOU ARE LOVED. You are loved for who you are, and what you do.

Carrie Chapmann Catt wrote:

So to all the wonderful women in the world.I salute you, and I love you!

Woodland Nursery at The Card Concept #131

Hello Crafty Friends!

We have got the CUTEST inspiration photo to share with you this week for our newest challenge from The Card Concept, Woodland Nursery! You can see what the design team has created for you this week,  and link up your own Woodland Nursery project over at  The Card Concept blog right here: https://thecardconcept.blogspot.com

I was inspired by the soft browns and greys of the background, the tiny blue bird, and of course, an adorable woodland animal! I made sure to include them all in my Clean and Layered card!

I started with a fun background paper that had fun, puffy trees on it, and a little peek-a-boo squirrel! Then I added a few colorful tree die cuts, and this adorable squirrel I found in a bargain bin at local craft store closing its doors. I love his grey color and that little nut! I thought he was perfect for this project.

Now it’s your turn! We’d love to see what you’ll create! Make a card that features one of our six styles, or mix and match to come up with something new! Link it up over on The Card Concept!

A Touch O Green with The Card Concept

Hello Crafty Friends!

Thank you so much for popping in today and taking a look at our newest challenge from The Card Concept, Irish Coffee! Now, you may be wondering, just what exactly does this card have to do with Irish coffee? Take a look at our inspiration photo and see if you can find the clues, then head on over to The Card Concept for more great inspiration and ideas right here: https://thecardconcept.blogspot.com

Did you find it? That little green pick-up truck is the cutest, so I had to add one to my Clean and Layered card!  I knew I wanted to fill the truck bed up with some greenery, and I was thinking some delicate little clover with tiny flowers or something pretty, when my brand new die arrived! It’s the new Monstera die set and I can’t stop playing with it, so in the back of the truck it went! My plant moving guys are celebrating with some Irish coffee after they unload this Monstera!

Now it’s your turn to come up with a fresh and green idea! You can select any of our styles to play along with, or mix and match styles and come up with something magically delicious!

Spruce Up Your Place with Fusion

Hello Crafty Friends!

I am thrilled that you have dropped by today, because I am playing along with the latest challenge from Fusion, Decor! This week, the inspiration photo was a tough one, I am not going to lie! I tried to play around with a few things but then I just decided i would make something with two brand new dies I just received in the mail, and find my inspiration from the photo. You can link up your own Decor inspired card over at Fusion right here: https://fusioncardchallenge.blogspot.com/2020/02/fusion-decor.html

I like the look of this office, so clean, smooth lines, hard angles, very contemporary. So that’s what I included in my card too, hard angles, crisp white color, and, as a gardener, how could any space in my life NOT include a plant? This was a great opportunity to try out two new crafty goodies!

Warm Winter Wishes with The Card Concept

Hello Crafty Friends!

Thank you so much for joining us today for our newest challenge from The Card Concept, Warm Winter Wishes! Our design team has put together a wonderful collection of cards that will make you feel warm and cozy on a winter day! You can find more great inspiration and ideas and link up your Warm Winter Wishes card over on The Card Concept blog right here: https://thecardconcept.blogspot.com

Our winter white snowman is sending good wishes your way! I was inspired by his color, his big orange nose, and the wonderful shades of the woodgrain, and included that in my mixed media card.

I made the background by dribbling drops of alcohol inks onto watercolor paper. I usually use YUPO paper for projects like this, but I was fresh out! So I tried it on watercolor paper and got these awesome blurry dots that remind me of bokeh. I added my white, fuzzy, die cut kitty with the orange yarn, and cut the “hugs” out of a scrap of YUPO paper I had in my stash. The shiny lift of the YUPO really makes it pop!

Now it’s your turn! We can’t wait to see what you’ll create! Make a Warm Winter Wishes card in one of our style, or mix and match styles for something new! Link it up on The Card Concept!

Be Mine, Valentine! Love for The Card Concept

Hello Crafty Friends!

It’s time for another amazing challenge from The Card Concept! I love love LOVE our inspiration photo this week, and our theme, Be Mine Valentine! The color palette is bright and bold, and there are so many teeny tiny details in our inspiration photo to find your inspiration! You can get all the details, see more beautiful ideas from our design team, and link up your Valentine ideas over on The Card Concept right here: https://thecardconcept.blogspot.com

For my Clean and Layered graphic card, I focused on that bright and bold color palette, limiting myself to just black, red, and white. I had this pretty background paper with the rows of hearts in subtle, soft colors, and focused on the big LOVE and the pretty garland on the fireplace. Even though there is no kitty inspiration photo, there is a tiny house, and what is a house without a kitty? At least in MY house anyway! this little kitty is ready to love someone special too.

Now it’s your turn! Link up your Valentine over on our Card Concept blog, using one of our styles,  or mixing and matching styles to create something new! We’d love to see what you’ll create!
