Tropical Treats with The Card Concept #138a

Hello Crafty Friends!

I am thrilled you could join our special summer fun edition of The Card Concept! A few of our designers have come together to keep the fun going all summer long here at The Card Concept with this week’s juicy inspiration photo, Tropical Treats! You can see what the entire team has created, and link up your own Tropical Treats project over at The Card Concept right here: https://thecardconcept.blogspot.com

This inspiration photo has a number of fun elements to draw from, including the juicy color palette, bright pinks and a splash of black. Who could forget that fancy flamingo and those big green palms? Very fun and very Floridian too! I combined the colors, the flamingo, and the palms for my Clean and Layered look.

Now it’s your turn! We can’t wait to see the magic you’ll create with our Tropical Treats challenge! Simply make a card inspired by one of our styles, and link it up over at The Card Concept!

Summer Fun with The Card Concept #138

Welcome to some Summer Fun with this week’s challenge from The Card Concept, Summer Fun! When I saw this inspiration photo a few weeks ago, I took a quick glance and thought it was a patriotic table setting in red, white, and blue! But when I started working I took a closer look and to my delight, I discovered this awesome sea theme! Take a look!

I love these summer colors, and the bright blues, crisp whites, and a splash of red! I used them all in my super simple Clean and Layered card. You can find more great inspiration and ideas, and link up your Summer Fun card over at The card Concept right here: https://thecardconcept.blogspot.com

Summer Fun sea colors like these always remind me of New England,  Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and a table full of lobster rolls and crab cakes! Summer in New England always feel like VACATION, since I now live in Florida. Summer Fun by the sea in Florida here has an entirely different color palette! I wishI could add one of those North Atlantic giant squids or a kraken from an old whaling map to really make this feel more old New England! But instead I found some fun background pattern paper with tiny rows of anchors , and a few little sea friends from the Poppystamps Whittle animals collection. I added a few cuts and and a few sea colored sequins for a Clean and Layered look.

Now it’s your turn! Show us your Summer Fun designs, and link them up over on The Card Concept!

Hello Crafty Friends!

It’s time for another amazing inspiration challenge from The Card Concept! Whoopsies! I better announce this!

Hello Crafty Friends!

I hope you are all doing well! I SHOULD have announced this a while ago, but I have chosen a lucky winner of some fun blog prize candy from the Spring | Summer  Coffee Lovers Hop! While the hop was on, I had planned to post a few more cards, and have a few more days for comments, but then something happened – I got called back to work! I had been working part-time as an essential worker, and then our state Governor gave the word to open things back up and just like that, we were back in business. I work for an organization that helps kids and their communities. We opened up, things were a little busy, and on our 3rd day, we had to evacuate the building due to rising flood waters from the nearby river! Did someone say 2020 was only HALF over?

But the good news is, we’ve got Coffee Blog Hops, and crafting, and fun friends to look forward to all summer long! So without any further ado, the winner of the Coffee Livers Prize package is . . .

KAREN LADD

Yay! Karen, please contact me at crimsonowl@comcast.net with your snail mail address and I’ll ship that right out! Congratulations!

Thanks to Karen, who is a loyal blog follower of Crimson Owl Creations, and all my crafty friends and family who like my stuff so much! You are all AMAZING and I appreciate every single one of you! Keep reading, and keep crafting too!

Fusion Challenge At the Beach

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today I am sharing a really fun card for the latest challenge from Fusion! I love the inspiration photo that showed a little surfboard, so, SURF’S UP! You can get all the details, and link up  your favorite beach scene over at the Fusion Card Challenge Blog right here: https://fusioncardchallenge.blogspot.com/2020/05/fusion-beach.html

I live on the Atlantic coast, so I love to walk along the beach picking up a few shells and watching the waves roll in, especially right before a storm, which is the best surf weather too! I had fun playing around with a few different paper optical illusions to create a rolling surf. It’s time for a little fun at the beach!

Bright Florals with The Card Concept

Hello Crafty Friends!

Have you seen the AMAZING photo inspiration from The Card Concept this week? Our theme is Bright Florals, and our design team is sharing some of the boldest and brightest florals in town! You can see the team’s awesome designs, get all the details, and link up your Bright Florals creation over on The Card Concept right here https://thecardconcept.blogspot.com

I really fell in love with the gorgeous blue textured wall in this photo, and started out with that! I used the brand new Chrysanthemum Field 3D Embossing Folder from Poppystamps, and created the pretty blue card background, then just stared at it for days! Finally, I tried another brand new crafty treat for me, the HANDS die from Julie Ebersole with Essentials by Ellen. I have seen this pretty die popping up all over blogland lately, and then was encouraged by my friend Michele from I Card Everyone to add this die to my collection. I wanted to create an image of joy and abundance, two arms clutching a giant bouquet!

Now it’s your turn! Show us how you are inspired by today’s Bright Florals challenge, and link up your project over on The Card Concept!

I had so much fun making this card! I started with a huge pile of scraps left over from my alcohol ink on YUPO paper projects, and cut out the tiny hearts, then arranged them in my Poppystamps Grid heart Frame. Add a cup of your favorite brew and a little love and you have some Coffee Love Love!

But that’s not all! I have a special surprise for YOU! Simply leave a comment on today’s post, or any of my posts from the Coffee Lovers Hop and you might be randomly selected to win some amazing blog candy!
