Have you ever had one of those weekends where you’ve just felt like hanging around your house? So many people have been quarantined for so long they are just busting to get out and about. But for a lot of other folks, essential workers, teachers, retail associates, grocery store workers, delivery drivers, first responders, health care workers, and so many others, a week of work means long, hard hours, physical and emotional exhaustion, and a week of hot, damp, ear-itching masks. This card is for all those folks that love a weekend at home, in a comfy cool place, catching up on a little rest and Netflix! Of course, perhaps making a card or two as well!
Thanks so much for dropping by my blog today, and for swinging by the Poppystamps blog too! We have loads of great inspiration and ideas from our amazing design team, along with challenges and prizes too! Come on in and take a look!

I was inspired by the beautiful color palette, the flowers in the curtain, and the friendly owls on the wall for my Clean and Layered card. This little chick is ready to meet the world!
Now it’s your turn to design something new and fresh, link it up, and feature our card Concept challenge photo and you might be selected as our newest challenge winner!
Happy Valentine’s Day from all of us here at Crimson Owl Creations! I created this card for my wonderful husband, Aaron, who also serves on the Crimson Owl Creations Board of Directors and is our chief CFO AND IT man! He wears many hats for a hubby, and he’s always acting all crabby about not getting paid enough for all he does! But since we’ve moved to Florida, we’ve embraced these happy little crabs doing a happy little crab dance because they are so much in love! I think he loved the card!
We are wishing that your days are filled with love and happy crabbies too!
Welcome to this week’s new challenge from The Card Concept, Sweetheart Sweets! We would love for you to join in and create a card inspired by this week’s photo, then link it up over at The Card Concept right here https://thecardconcept.blogspot.com
We’ve got seven great styles to choose from: Clean and Simple, Clean and Layered, Shabby Chic and Vintage, Clean and Graphic, Freestyle Collage, Classy and Elegant, and Mixed Media. What’s my style? This week it’s feeling like Clean and Layered, with a bouquet of fancy layered die cuts. Or is it more like Clean and Graphic? I’m not really sure, and the great part is, you don’t have to be either! Just create a beautiful design, link it up, and you might be selected as this week’s design super star!
I felt really inspired by those bright colors! You know I love to use die cuts like die cut Queen, but I just wasn’t feeling my cupcake groove. So I thought outside the box a little and focused on the juicy color palette, red, pink, green, and a touch of chocolate. I used fresh green leaves and a even a heart too!
Now it’s your turn! What will you create? We are trying to encourage as many crafters as possible to play along, so if you haven’t tried a Card Concept challenge before, why not let the Sweetheart Sweets be your fist?
We have a really fun challenge for you this week over at The Card Concept! Today our inspiration photo and challenge is Daring to Dream. You can get all the details, see more great inspiration and ideas from our own daring design team, and link up your Daring to Dream inspired card over at The Card Concept right here https://thecardconcept.blogspot.com
To be perfectly honest, whenI first saw the inspiration photo, I thought, okay, the artistically designed side table, suitcases, globes, it’s a travel thing. But when I sat down to work, and read the theme, Daring to Dream, I thought of the challenge in a different way. With a sheltered in place 2020, travel truly is a wonderful dream, whether it’s an exotic place or a nice trip to the midwest to visit our folks. What if that dream took us to a REALLY exotic place?
I used a few elements from the photo, such as the greenery, the muted grays, the dark square, a pet (do you see the doggie?), the dark chair, and the concept of Earth as a planet, to create this Clean and Layered dreamy card. I was thinking about all the little girls dreaming about space exploration and astronomy, fields that were nearly impossible to enter when I was young. What do YOU see when you look at this card? Is the kitty dreaming about space too? Is he curiously watching the rocket because he knows who is inside? Is someone outside in the yard watching the launch? Dare to dream about the possibilities.
Now it’s your turn to Dare to Dream! Create a card that features one of our card styles, link it up over at The Card Concept, and be sure to include our Card Concept linky and photo in your post, and your beautiful project could be selected by our design team as this challenge’s winner!

It’s so easy to play along with The Card Concept. Just pick one of our fun styles and create a card or project using Clean and Simple, Clean and Layered, Shabby Chic & Vintage, Clean and Graphic, Freestyle Collage, Classy & Elegant, or Mixed Media! All of the styles are explained over at The Card Concept, along with the linky for your inspired card. Take a look at this week’s inspiration photo, see what our talented new team has created, and get all the details over at The Card Concept right here https://thecardconcept.blogspot.com
Our theme is Winter Warmth, and I found a few elements from the photo to be inspired by! I did a little new year crafty organizing and found this awesome pack of coffee cup shaped shaker cards and plastic bubbles, and thought they would be perfect for this challenge. I love the big coffee mug, the red and white color palette, and the tiny trees and moose. I created a snowy wintery scene inside the bubble, with a cabin, pine trees, mountains, and a little moon, and filled it full of snowflakes, stars, and shiny red sequins.
Trying to hammer down a stye for this card was tough – -it is mixed media with the shaker addition, it’s certainly freestyle collage, and it’s Clean and Graphic too. A little something for everyone!
Now it’s your turn to create your idea of Winter Warmth, and link it up over on The Card Concept blog. Be sure to mention The Card Concept in your post too!
It’s wildly and wonderfully brilliant that Day 12 is The 12 Days of Christmas! That very old yuletide carol is filled with great visual imagery. I love seeing designer’s very modern twists on the classic carol. My colorful little partridge is ready for Christmas!
Today’s tag is inspired by The 12 Days of Christmas, from Day 12.
Deck the Halls has always been a cheerful, happy song, with some unusual lyrics! It is a Welsh tune from the 16th century about welcoming Christmas with friends and family. It has a strong opener, and those FA LA LAs are quite memorable. But then I’m sort of at a loss at what to add to a tag. so I went with those memorable Fa LA Las! Everyone knows that FA LA LA song!
Today’s tag is inspired by Deck the Halls, from Day 11.
