Have a Cuppa with The Card Concept

Hello Friends!

It’s the perfect time of year to get comfy with a warm cuppa! Cocoa or coffee, what’s your pleasure?Even down here in sunny Florida, our days have become chilly and rainy these past few days. When I saw this week’s inspiration from The Card Concept #167, Cuppa Cocoa or Coffee, I was inspired by these cozy post-Christmas colors, and those delicious mugs of flavorful chocolate! Take a look! https://thecardconcept.blogspot.com

Playing along with The Card Concept is easy! Just create a card or project in your favorite style, and link it up over on The Card Concept Challenge Blog. Mix or match styles if you’d like, and be sure to add your Card Concept link to your blog post too.

I loved the reds and greens, the pine sprigs in the background, the creamy cup of cocoa, and the shiny berries too! I used them all in a Clean and Layered Freestyle Collage card featuring books, glasses, and a little white moose too. What will you use in your Cuppa Cocoa or Coffee design?

It’s a Fresh New Year with The Card Concept

Welcome to a brand new year of challenges with The Card Concept! We’re kicking off the New Year with challenge #166, Fresh New Year! Check it out over at The Card Concept right here https://thecardconcept.blogspot.com/2022/01/the-card-concept-166-fresh-new-year.html

I was inspired by these fresh, clean, contrasting colors, the pretty pinks and black. I always think about my home when getting ready for the new year. Time to put away the holiday decorations, clean up the house, and organize everything! I created this charming Winter home easel card in a Clean and Layered style.

I used my Poppystamps Winter House Pop Up Easel Die Set to create a card that looks charming up or down. A little message on the bottom is a nice surprise for the recipient, who is always reminded that love lives here.

Rustic Holiday with The Card Concept

Hello Friends!

Winter is sliding in with crisp, cool mornings, and for many of us, snow! Can you believe it! Why not cozy up with a lush, cozy cabin inspiration for this week’s challenge with Card Concept #164, Rustic Holiday!

Use our inspiration photo to create a Rustic Holiday card and link it up over on The Card Concept blog right here https://thecardconcept.blogspot.com

There are just so many wonderful tiny bits of inspiration in this week’s photo! I love the deep, rich rustic colors, and thought this would make a nice masculine card card. I used a pretty winter plaid background paper that has thin metallic gold lines in it that match our shiny gold stag. Winter animals, plaids, reds, greens, and browns, and lush poinsettias inspired my freestyle collage card. What will inspire you?

Celebrate a Beautiful Bounty with The Card Concept

Hello Crafty Friends!

November is here. Out go the bright neon oranges and greens of Halloween, and in come the subtle shades of Autumn. I love when the colors of Autumn are unexpected, like creamy white pumpkins, or the powdery blue of lambs ears and sage. This week at The Card Concept, we get a little bit of all that with Challenge #163, Beautiful Bounty. You can be inspired by our beautiful photo and create your own card, get some wonderful ideas, and link up your project over on The Card Concept blog right here https://thecardconcept.blogspot.com

I love the big white pumpkin right in the center, so I thought about a background that would really make my sparkly pumpkin pop. I used one of my favorite crafty techniques, alcohol ink! I love layering the drops and then blowing them all around with one of those big squishy ball air blowers. SO MUCH FUN! You will create a beautiful image every time! I added my pumpkin and a few leaves and Fairy Crystals and it was ready.

Celebration Kitty

Hello Friends!

I can’t believe that TODAY is the last day of the 2021 Cat Lovers Hop. Cat Lovers has always been one of my very favorite hops, and I have been playing along for the past 7 years. I remember the very first Cat Lovers Hop, and I am so proud of my dear friend Janis, a true friend of the kitties, who has cultivated and grown this hop every year! I’m already thinking about NEXT year’s hop too!

There’s still time to play along and get one more card entered for another chance to win fabulous cat prizes and find some great kitty inspiration. I know that I have picked up a few new ideas from all of the crafters and card makers who have linked up crazy cat ideas! Check out her Peaceful garden right here https://herpeacefulgarden.blogspot.com/2021/10/main-hop-page-2021-cat-lovers-hop.html

For my final cat card today, I am using a fun stencil that I WON in last year’s Cat Lovers Hop, Mini Flying Cat by TCW (The Crafters Workshop). I love this happy kitty, flying through the air! I used pink embossing paste on 6 x 6 inch patterned paper, then added a few tiny balloon die cuts.

Seeing this happy kitty flying through the air reminded me of just how very different my life was a year ago, at the end of the Cat Lovers Hop. Because of the pandemic, my roles at my job had changed, and I was looking forward to getting back to more of the things that I liked best about my work. But then, in the spring of 2021, I was offered a full-time position at a Children’s Museum, and I became the new Education Coordinator! Now my days are spent programming for children, and yes, a flying cat would fit right in! So many things have changed now, and it’s given my whole family cause for celebration!

I’m headed back over to The Cat Lovers Hop to see a few more great ideas before wrapping up my kitty stash this year! See you there!

MEOW WOW! The Cat Lovers Blog Hop Begins Today!

Hello Friends!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, when my wonderful friend, Janice in Idaho kicks off her Cat Lover Blog Hop over on her blog, Her Peaceful Garden! Today is Day 1, and if you LOVE cats, THIS is the place you want to be! There is so much going on over at Her Peaceful Garden this week, you won’t want to miss a thing! Games, prizes, giveaways, cartoons, sponsors, inspiration, and a chance to link up a cat creation every day! Check it out over at Her Peaceful Garden right here https://herpeacefulgarden.blogspot.com/2021/10/main-hop-page-2021-cat-lovers-hop.html

I have to join in on the fun too with my Cat Creation for Day 1! A few weeks ago, I saw one of those “must-have” dies that I just went and ahead and ordered THAT day! Today it makes its debut in the Cat Lovers Blog Hop! I used Cat Stained Glass from Tutti Designs to create this beautiful stained glass look. The die is a little small, so I paired it with one of our newest dies from Poppystamps, Stepped Deco Frame. I needed to do a little bit of trimming and placing, but eventually I achieved this pretty and “almost” seamless stained glass cat look.

Now I’m heading over to Her Peaceful Garden to play along with the fun! I’ll see you there!
