Winnie and Walter Birthday Bash Wrap-Up

Hello Everybody!

Today I am wrapping up my projects for the Winnie and Walter Birthday Bash! There’s still plenty of time, and even more categories for you to play along with! You can get all the details and link up your creation right here: http://www.blog.winniewalter.com/2018/02/w-4th-birthday-bash-details.html

This pretty LOVE tag was created with one of my favorite tag bases, a layered flower, and two of my favorite Winnie and Walter dies, True Multifaceted Heart Cutaways, and In a Word Love Cutaway. I’ve created it for the Anything But a Card Challenge with Kate, and the Inspiration Challenge with Gayatri.

Winnie and Walter Birthday Bash

Hello Everyone!

Happy Birthday Winnie and Walter! They are celebrating the Big 4 with a month of challenges and fun! You can get all the details and link up your own Big 4 creations over at the Winnie and Walter Blog right here: http://www.blog.winniewalter.com/2018/02/w-4th-birthday-bash-details.html

To create this card, I used a combination of watercolor paints, stamping, and embossing powder. I wanted this to look like a very “messy” impressionist card with the gold embossing around the petals. In some ways, it’s not quite messy enough, and in others, it’s too messy. I think I am going to keep on playing with this technique for different effects. I started by stamping the flower images onto watercolor paper, then adding shading and splatters with watercolor paints, then stamping the petal outlines in gold and adding embossing powder. The “believe” is from Winnie and Walter! I always like to say, “Always have a little faith.”

This card will be a part of the Watercoloring With a Twist Challenge with Heather H., and the Inspiration Challenge with Gayatri!

Winnie and Walter Birthday Bash

Hello Everybody!

The Big Birthday Bash over at Winnie and Walter is in full swing! You can get all the details and link up your project over at the Winnie and Walter blog right here: http://www.blog.winniewalter.com/2018/02/w-4th-birthday-bash-watercolor-with.html

For today’s challenge, I have created a card for the Watercoloring with a Twist Challenge with Heather H!  I think this card also really fits with the Grid Challenge with Keren too! I started with an embossed piece of watercolor paper, then carefully painted each little square with watercolor paint. Then I added this cute little “thanks” from the Winnie and Walter collection! I saw this idea from a designer a long time ago, and the painted watercolor grid has been in my mind ever since! I love to credit other designers when I try techniques that they have created, but I can no longer remember her name! I do remember this beautiful idea of tiny watercolor squares!

Winnie and Walter Birthday Bash

Hello Everyone!

Happy Birthday Winnie and Walter! Our friends at Winnie and Walter are celebrating the Big 4 with a Birthday Bash! You can get all the details and send your birthday wishes over at the Winnie and Walter blog right here: http://www.blog.winniewalter.com/2018/02/w-4th-birthday-bash-grid-challenge-with.html

Today, I am playing along with the Grid Challenge with Keren! The challenge was to make a card that featured a grid! I used a fun grid embossing plate to create the puffy square grids, then cut out the big Winnie and Walter LOVE out of graph paper! I like the pretty look of the thin blue lines and the white squares. It reminded me of a sweet little love doodle sketched in a notebook!
